I had a friend who wouldn’t understand why I was weirded out when I saw a Cosplay of a father as Wolverine and his kids as Scott and Jean. They were toddlers. And they just couldn’t understand.
I can’t wait until it’s 2070 so people can be arguing about how Irreversible or some other controversial film is really not as great as it is claimed because films almost a decade later did things vaguely similar to it.
This all reminds me of the time I was shopping for Movie Poster Frames and I saw a really cheap one that looked really nice, but it came with a poster for Birth of a Nation, and my UPS guy is black, and I just wanted to avoid that entire situation.

What’s so distressing about Blackest Night’s collection is that we have the newly released Brightest Day Omnibus, which doesn’t really need to exist considering it’s a straight 25 issues, but also we have Sinestro Corps War, which is not only the best comic book crossover event this side of Annihilation Wave (GRAB THE OMNIBIS IF YOU’VE NOT READ IT, DO IT) but it is easily the best example of how to collect a comic book.
So, the series is just a few issues in Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, a special, 4 tie in one shots, and a secret files. Throw in some back-ups not previously collected in the last GL trade, and we have material for 3 books. So, when they collected it, they made Sinestro Corps War Vol 1, which collects the special and Green Lantern and GLC in chronological order, Vol 2 finishes that up, and Tales of the Sinestro Corps War collects the nooks and crannies. Read Tales between 1 and 2, and you’re golden. It’s perfect. I can hand it to a friend and let them be on their way.
I guess it’s not all that bad considering Blackest Night was a bloated, awful comic that I wouldn’t want to have my friends read anyway.
I don’t think I’ll ever get over how DC decided to collect Blackest Night. Bad enough it was one of those event books that had it’s story hop around from issue to issue, but it wasn’t collected in chronological order. Like, to understand Blackest Night, you need to read Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps simultaneously with the Blackest Night series, but they collected just Blackest Night as one book, and Blackest Night Green Lantern as one book, and Blackest Night GLC as one book, and then all the minis and tie ins as a two volume piece. You’d literally have to read the books intermittently.
THEN THEY RELEASED AN ABSOLUTE EDITION THAT LITERALLY ONLY ADDED A HANDFUL OF PAGES AND WAS ONLY THE MAIN SERIES. AND MADE IT $125.
